There’s a good excerpted interview published by Christianity Today from 2005 with Bono (of U2 fame) about his faith, Scripture and Christ is insightful and dare I say, heart-warming.

Isn’t Bono a lapsed Catholic?
One of Bon’s parents was Church of Ireland and the other Catholic. I don’t know if he is a regular church-going Catholic but he seems to have some connection with the Catholic Church. In the interview he seems to come out in favor for Catholicism and he won’t talk about what transpired between himself and Pope John Paul II. There are some who say that U2 is a pro-choice but I don’t know their philosophical/theological underpinnings.
