The worship of the Catholic Church offers a reminder that every celebration of the Eucharist is, by definition, Thanksgiving. Our proper orientation is that of gratitude for being given life, freedom, love, virtue and friendship.<\/p>\n
It is proper and right to hymn You,
\nto bless You,
\nto praise You,
\nto give thanks to You,
\nand to worship You
\nin every place of Your dominion.
\nFor You, O God, are ineffable,
\ninconceivable, invisible, incomprehensible,
\nexisting forever, forever the same,
\nYou and Your only-begotten Son and Your Holy Spirit.
\nYou brought us out of nothing into being,
\nand when we had fallen away,
\nYou raised us up again.
\nYou left nothing undone
\nuntil You had led us up to heaven
\nand granted us Your Kingdom, which is to come.
\nFor all these things,
\nwe thank You and Your only-begotten Son and Your Holy Spirit:
\nfor all things we know and do not know,
\nfor blessings manifest and hidden
\nthat have been bestowed on us.
\nWe thank You also for this Liturgy,
\nwhich You have deigned to receive from our hands,
\neven though thousands of archangels
\nand tens of thousands of angels stand around You,
\nthe Cherubim and Seraphim, six-winged, many-eyed,
\nsoaring aloft upon their wings,
\nsinging the triumphal hymn,
\nexclaiming, proclaiming, and saying,
\nHoly, holy, holy, Lord Sabaoth,
\nheaven and earth are filled with Your glory.
\nHosanna in the highest.
\nBlessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord.
