His personal mission was to\u00a0secretly construct well-disguised &#8216;priest-holes&#8217;, or h<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">iding places for hunted priests, during the night. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Nicholas Owen was a professed co-opperator (lay) brother of the Society of Jesus in England. On the mission, Owen served jail time\u00a0for defending the martyred St. Edmund Campion. History shows that\u00a0<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">Nicholas\u00a0masterminded the priest&#8217;s escape from the Tower of London and he was a wanted man\u00a0after the Gunpowder Plot of 1605.
