On this day in 1942, Pope Pius XII consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary<\/p>\n

“Queen of the Holy Rosary,
\nHelp of the Christians,
\nRefuge of the human race,
\nConqueress in God\u2019s battlefields,
\nTo You and to Your Immaculate Heart
\nIn this tragic hour of human history
\nWe entrust and consecrate ourselves,
\nAnd the Holy Church.
\nShe is the Mystical Body of Your Jesus,
\nSuffering and bleeding in so many parts
\nAnd tormented in so many ways,
\nWe consecrate to You the whole world torn by bitter strive
\nAnd consumed by the fire of hatred
\nThe victim of its own wickedness.
\nLook with compassion to all material and moral destruction
\nTo the suffering and fears of fathers and mothers
\nOf husbands and wives, of brother and sisters and innocent children.
\nLook at the many lives cut down in the flower of youth
\nSo many bodies torn to pieces in brutal slaughter
\nSo many souls tortured and troubled
\nAnd in danger of being lost eternally.
\nOh, Mother of Mercy, obtain peace for us from God!
\nObtain especially those graces, which can convert human hearts quickly.
\nThose graces, which can prepare, establish and insure peace.
\nQueen of Peace, pray for us;
\nGive the world at war the peace for which all are longing,
\nPeace in Truth, Justice and the Charity of Christ.
\nGive them peace of the arms and peace of mind,
\nThat in tranquillity and order
\nThe Kingdom of God may expand.
\nGrant Your protection to infidels
\nAnd to those still walking in the shadow of death;
\nGive them peace and permit that the sun of truth may raise upon them;
\nAnd that together with us
\nThey may repeat before the Only Saviour of the World:
\nGlory to God in the highest
\nAnd peace on earth among men of good will (Lk2.14)
\nGive peace to the people separated by error and schism,
\nParticularly those, who have special devotion to You
\nAnd among whom there was no home,
\nWhere Your venerable Icon was not honoured,
\nThough at present it may be hidden
\nIn the hope for better days.
\nBring them back to the One Fold of Christ,
\nUnder the One True Shepherd.
\nObtain peace and complete liberty for the Holy Church of God,
\nCheck the spreading flood of neo-paganism,
\nArouse within the faithful love of purity
\nThe practice of Christian life and apostolic zeal,
\nSo that the people who serve God,
\nMay increase in merit and number.
\nAll of humanity were once consecrated to the Heart of Your Son.
\nAll our hopes rest in Him, Who is in all times
\nSign and pledge of victory and salvation.
\nForever we consecrate ourselves to You
\nAnd to Your Immaculate Heart,
\nOh, Mother and Queen of the World!
\nMay Your love and patronage hasten the victory of the Kingdom of God,
\nMay all nations, at peace with each other and with God, proclaim You Blessed
\nAnd sing with You from one end of the earth to the other,
\nThe eternal Magnificat of glory, love and gratitude
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

To the Heart of Jesus, in which alone,
\nThey can find Truth, Life and Peace.”<\/span><\/p>\n
