Alfred Pampalon died 121 years ago today at the age of 28.\u00a0Classmates called\u00a0him “the Lamb of God” as a testimony\u00a0to his piety and\u00a0gentleness while others called him the\u00a0“Hail Mary Saint” because of his love for the Blessed Virgin Mary.\u00a0Alcoholics\u00a0and drug addicts and their caregivers rely on his testimony of faith and cleaning living to inspire personal change<\/p>\n
The human and spiritual qualities of Alfred (an\u00a0excellent\u00a0athlete, a good\u00a0student, devout, prayerful, and\u00a0helpful, a desire to devote to God’s service) made him a solid candidate for priesthood. His spiritual and intellectual training couple with a great heart allowed him to be renowned\u00a0as a confessor and spiritual\u00a0director, especially\u00a0among\u00a0the poor.<\/p>\n
Ask the Lord to make a saint of the Catholic Church. We need his intercession today.
