The designation of martyr means that a determination was made that they were killed in hatred of the faith during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939).<\/p>\n<p>The beatification is\u00a0Saturday, October 3, 2015 in the cathedral of Santander, Cantabria, Spain.<\/p>\n<p>The Cistercians consider the martyrdom of their brothers as a testimony to the Sermon on the Mount where our Lord, &#8220;Blessed are the peacemakers,\u00a0for they shall be called sons of God.&#8221; Their death is a great witness &#8220;To prefer nothing to the love of Christ.&#8221; And, they did so in silence.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 3\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>The beatification cause of the Cistercian Mother\u00a0Mar\u00eda Micaela Baldov\u00ed Trull, 67 and\u00a0Mother\u00a0Mar\u00eda Natividad Medes Ferris, 56,\u00a0Monastery\u00a0of Fons Salutis, in Algemes\u00ed<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Father Pio and the monks were professed at the Monasterio de Santa Mar\u00eda de Viaceli.
