God, the Father of Heaven,\u00a0have mercy on us<\/i>,
\nGod, the Son, Redeemer of the world,

\nHoly Mother of God,
\nHoly Virgin of virgins,

Thou who had a great love for St. Norbert,

\nSt. Norbert, most constant in faith,
\nSt. Norbert, most firm in hope,
\nSt. Norbert, most fervent in charity,
\nSt. Norbert, zealous lover of chastity,
\nSt. Norbert, model of poverty,
\nSt. Norbert, mirror of obedience,

From the neglect of Thy commandments,\u00a0deliver us, O Lord,\u00a0<\/i>
\nFrom the transgression of our vows,
\nFrom uncleanness of mind and body,
\nFrom the spirit of fornication,
\nFrom a proud and sad spirit,
\nFrom the snares of the devil,
\nFrom overwhelming temptation,
\nFrom the disorder of our passions,
\nFrom the blindness of self-love,
\nFrom the obstinacy of self-will,
\nFrom an evil and unprovided death,<\/p>\n

Through the wonderful conversion of St. Norbert,
\nThrough his austere penance,
\nThrough his ardent zeal in preaching,
\nThrough his exemplary life,
\nThrough all his virtues,
\nThrough his holy death,
\nThrough his wonderful translation,
\nThrough his glorious crown in Heaven,
\nThrough his merits and intercession,
\nWe sinners, beseech Thee, hear us, \u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

That Thou would grant us true sorrow and contrition of heart,\u00a0we beseech Thee, hear us,\u00a0<\/i>
\nThat Thou would grant us a true conversion of life,
\nThat Thou would grant us obedience to our Rule and preserve us in the same,
\nThat Thou would make faith, hope and charity to grow in us,
\nThat Thou would make us zealous observers of our three vows,
\nThat Thou would grant us the gift of prayer,
\nThat Thou would bestow upon us the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit,
\nThat Thou would vouchsafe to govern and preserve Thy holy Church,
\nThat Thou would vouchsafe to extend and preserve the Premonstratensian Order,
\nThat Thou would vouchsafe to strengthen the Abbot General and all the Abbots of the Order with a perfect spirit,
\nThat Thou would vouchsafe to grant us the crown of perseverance,
\nThat Thou would give grace to the living and to the departed eternal rest,<\/p>\n

Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world,\u00a0spare us, O Lord,\u00a0<\/i>
\nLamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world,\u00a0have mercy on us.<\/i>
\nChrist hear us,<\/p>\n

Christ graciously hear us,
\nLord have mercy on us,
\nChrist, have mercy on us,
\nLord, have mercy on us,<\/p>\n

(quietly)\u00a0 Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.\u00a0 Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.\u00a0 Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us …<\/p>\n

V.\u00a0 And lead us not into temptation,
\nR.\u00a0 But deliver us from evil.<\/p>\n

V. Pray for us, O Holy Father Norbert,
\nR.\u00a0 That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.<\/p>\n

V.\u00a0 O Lord, hear my prayer,
\nR.\u00a0 And let my cry come unto Thee.<\/p>\n

V.\u00a0 The Lord be with you,
\nR.\u00a0 And also with you.<\/p>\n

Let us pray.<\/b><\/p>\n

O God, Who did make of Blessed Norbert, Thy Confessor and Bishop, an excellent preacher of the Word, and by his means did enrich Thy Church with new offspring, grant, we beseech Thee, that through his intercession we may put in practice by Thy grace what he taught us, both in word and work.<\/p>\n

Awake, O Lord, in Thy Church the Spirit by Whom St. Norbert, Thy Confessor and Bishop was guided, in order that, filled with the same spirit, we may love what he loved and live as he taught us.<\/p>\n

O Lord, grant to us Thy servant’s constancy in Thy faith and service, that, rooted in Divine charity, we may not be conquered by any temptation. Through Christ Our Lord.\u00a0 Amen.<\/p>\n

Praised be the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar and the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.<\/p>\n
