{"id":27518,"date":"2013-03-09T08:27:42","date_gmt":"2013-03-09T12:27:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/way-of-the-cross-over-the-broo\/"},"modified":"2013-03-09T08:27:42","modified_gmt":"2013-03-09T12:27:42","slug":"way-of-the-cross-over-the-broo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/way-of-the-cross-over-the-broo\/","title":{"rendered":"Way of the Cross over the Brooklyn Bridge to Ground Zero 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/Way%20of%20the%20Cross%202013.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Way of the Cross 2013.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/assets_c\/2013\/03\/Way of the Cross 2013-thumb-325x445-13883.jpg\" width=\"325\" height=\"445\" class=\"mt-image-left\" style=\"float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: rgb(69, 69, 69); \"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.0px\">Since 1996, <i>Communion and Liberation,<\/i> an ecclesial movement in the Catholic Church, has organized the <i>Way of the Cross over the Brooklyn Bridge.&nbsp;<\/i>With God&#8217;s grace, year after year the event has grown &#8212; thirty people became a hundred, two hundred, three hundred, four hundred, a thousand, until, at last year&#8217;s Good Friday thousands New Yorkers followed the Cross all the way to Ground Zero.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: rgb(69, 69, 69); \"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.0px\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: rgb(69, 69, 69); \"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.0px\">It thus gives me great joy to invite you to participate in this year&#8217;s <i>Way of the Cross over the Brooklyn Bridge to Ground Zero. &nbsp;<\/i>The event begins at 10am on Good Friday &#8211; March 29, 2013 &#8211; at St. James Cathedral-Basilica, 250 Cathedral Place (corner of Jay and Tillary Streets) and it will conclude at 1:30pm so the participants can attend the Good Friday service in their parish. &nbsp;The cathedral can be reached by taking the A, C, or F train to the Borough Hall Stop in downtown Brooklyn.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: rgb(69, 69, 69); \"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.0px\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: rgb(69, 69, 69); \"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.0px\">After a station on the Brooklyn Bridge, the procession will follow the cross to a third station at City Hall Park in Manhattan, and a fourth station near Ground Zero.
