{"id":27500,"date":"2013-03-03T07:49:21","date_gmt":"2013-03-03T11:49:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/church-completes-benedictine-m\/"},"modified":"2013-03-03T07:49:21","modified_gmt":"2013-03-03T11:49:21","slug":"church-completes-benedictine-m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/church-completes-benedictine-m\/","title":{"rendered":"Church completes Benedictine merger: Subiaco Cassinese Benedictine Congregation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin-bottom: 16px; font-size: 12px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; \"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.0px\">On Tuesday, 26 February 2013, &nbsp;Jo&atilde;o Cardinal Br&aacute;z de Aviz, Prefect of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vatican.va\/roman_curia\/congregations\/ccscrlife\/\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px; color: rgb(2, 30, 170); \">Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life<\/span><\/a>, received in audience the Abbots of Subiaco, Montecassino, Noci, and Cava dei Tirreni, along with the Procurator General of the <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Subiaco_Congregation\" title=\"Subiaco Congregation\" rel=\"wikipedia\" target=\"_blank\">Subiaco Congregation<\/a> and gave them the Decree of the Incorporation of the <a href=\"http:\/\/atlas.osb-international.info\/atlas\/congr\/Cas\/NameCat\/1\/en.html\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px; color: rgb(2, 30, 170); \">Cassinese Congregation<\/span><\/a> into the Subiaco Congregation.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 16px; font-size: 12px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; \"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.0px\">The decree is dated 7 February 2013, the Memorial of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pope_Pius_IX\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px; color: rgb(2, 30, 170); \">Blessed Pius IX<\/span><\/a>, proponent of the <a href=\"http:\/\/atlas.osb-international.info\/atlas_congr.php?congr=Subl\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px; color: rgb(2, 30, 170); \">Subiaco Congregation<\/span><\/a>. The new official name of the Congregation is the <b>Subiaco Cassinese Benedictine Congregation<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 16px; font-size: 12px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; \"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.0px\">This is a re-integrtion of a group of monasteries that were once in the same fold and broke away.
