Today is Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati<\/a>‘s 112th birthday. As a friend who brought this Litany to my attention said, “it’s a great piece of reflection for students and for those of us looking to be life-long learners.” Let<\/span>‘s pray to Blessed Piergiorgio for the grace of being a better friend, Christian, apostle and person of the Beatitudes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lord, have mercy on us.<\/span><\/p>\n

Christ, have mercy on us.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lord, have mercy on us.<\/span><\/p>\n

Christ hear us. Christ, graciously hear us.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

God the Father of heaven, have mercy on us.<\/span><\/p>\n

God the Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us.<\/span><\/p>\n

God the Holy Spirit, have mercy on us.<\/span><\/p>\n

Holy Trinity, one God, have mercy on us.<\/span><\/p>\n

Holy Mary,<\/span><\/p>\n

Patron of the poor,<\/span><\/p>\n

Comfort of the sick,<\/span><\/p>\n

Athlete for God’s kingdom,<\/span><\/p>\n

Conqueror of life’s mountains,<\/span><\/p>\n

Defender of truth and virtue,<\/span><\/p>\n

Opponent of every injustice,<\/span><\/p>\n

Patriotic citizen of the nation,<\/span><\/p>\n

Loyal son of the Church,<\/span><\/p>\n

Devoted child of the Madonna,<\/span><\/p>\n

Ardent adorer of the Eucharist,<\/span><\/p>\n

Fervent student of the Scriptures,<\/span><\/p>\n

Dedicated follower of St. Dominic,<\/span><\/p>\n

Apostle of prayer and fasting,<\/span><\/p>\n

Guide to a deep love for Jesus,<\/span><\/p>\n

Diligent in work and study,<\/span><\/p>\n

Joyful in all of life’s circumstances,<\/span><\/p>\n

Strong in safeguarding chastity,<\/span><\/p>\n

Silent in pain and suffering,<\/span><\/p>\n

Faithful to the promises of Baptism,<\/span><\/p>\n

Model of humility,<\/span><\/p>\n

Example of detachment,<\/span><\/p>\n

Mirror of obedience,<\/span><\/p>\n

Man of the Beatitudes,<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, spare us, O Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, graciously hear us, O Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.<\/span><\/p>\n

V. Pray for us, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati,<\/span><\/p>\n

R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let us pray, Father, you gave to the young Pier Giorgio Frassati the joy of meeting Christ and of living his faith in service of the poor and the sick. Through his intercession, may we, too, walk the path of the Beatitudes and follow the example of his generosity, spreading the spirit of the Gospel in society. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
