The martyrs came from Spain having died in the mid-1930s.\u00a0Of note to me was&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Maria-Luisa-Gertrude-Prosperi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-29898 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Maria-Luisa-Gertrude-Prosperi.jpg\" alt=\"Maria Luisa Gertrude Prosperi\" width=\"225\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a>~the recognition of the miracle attributed to the intercession of the Servant of God\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.labarbabietola.it\/news.asp?id2=5081446\"><b>Maria Luisa<\/b><\/a>\u00a0(nee Gertrude Prosperi; 1799-1847; image) an Abbess of the Benedictine Abbey in Trevi;<\/p>\n<p>~the recognition of the miracle attributed to the intercession of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kateri_Tekakwitha\"><b>Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha<\/b><\/a>\u00a0(1654-1672), an American lay woman and first Native American;<\/p>\n<p>~the recognition of the miracle attributed to the intercession of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blessedmariannecope.org\/\"><b>Blessed Marianne Cope<\/b><\/a>\u00a0(nee Barbara; 1838-1918), a Franciscan sister who worked with Saint Damian of Molokai.<\/p>\n<p>The Filipino community gets its second saint with the acceptance of the miracle attributed to Blessed\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pedro_Calungsod\"><b>Pedro Calungsod<\/b><\/a>\u00a0(1654-1672), a lay catechist.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sixty-seven people\u00a0who are being proposed for sainthood had their causes advanced today when Angelo Cardinal Amato, SDB, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints presented the respective cases to His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI.
