This Gospel passage, so crucial in<br \/>\nunderstanding Mother Teresa&#8217;s service to the poor, was the basis of her<br \/>\nfaith-filled conviction that in touching the broken bodies of the poor she was<br \/>\ntouching the body of Christ. It was to Jesus himself, hidden under the<br \/>\ndistressing disguise of the poorest of the poor, that her service was directed.<br \/>\nMother Teresa highlights the deepest meaning of service &#8211; <b>an act of love done<br \/>\nto the hungry, thirsty, strangers, naked, sick, prisoners (cf. Mt 25:&nbsp;34-36)<br \/>\nis done to Jesus himself<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\nmso-ansi-language:EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\nmso-ansi-language:EN-US\">Recognizing him, she ministered to him with<br \/>\nwholehearted devotion, expressing the delicacy of her spousal love. Thus, in<br \/>\ntotal gift of herself to God and neighbor, Mother Teresa found her greatest<br \/>\nfulfillment and lived the noblest qualities of her femininity.
