\"Fouad<\/a>The address of January 11th delivered by the Latin
\nPatriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude, Fouad Twal at the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate to bishops from around the world wasn’t <\/i>that<\/i><\/u> new and substantive <\/i>but<\/i><\/u> he talked about the tragic spilling of blood of many Christians in recent months, <\/i>then<\/i><\/u> he made a plea for a common and more deeper communion in the Lord with the hope of sharing the Eucharistic Table on earth. For
\nseveral years there’s been annual meeting of bishops from the various ecclesial
\ncommunions called the <\/i>Coordination of Episcopal Conferences in Support of the
\nChurch of the Holy Land and another, the <\/i>Assembly of Catholic Bishops in the
\nHoly Land. Basically, these bishops are meeting this week to discuss their philanthropic work in Jerusalem<\/i>. <\/span>Some of the address is excerpted here:<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Now, more than ever, we see the
\ntruth of what the Synod Fathers wrote in their propositions to the Holy Father,
\nthat our calling to be bearers of peace, “means sharing the cross of Christ.”
\nWe also wrote: “Amidst a world marked by division and extreme positions, we are
\ncalled to live communion in the Church staying open to everyone<\/b>.” Clearly this
\nis a calling beyond our human strength at times. It is only the grace of God
\npresent in our communion with Him and between us that can help us embrace this
\nmission as a precious gift.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Dear brothers, sharing the same faith in one God, one savior<\/u>, and sharing one joy, I pray the Lord that our communion increases, our daily dialogue and charity become stronger so that we reach one day the full communion and unity<\/u>, not only<\/i> in the heavenly Jerusalem but on this earth<\/b>. This is the dream of 2 billion Christians<\/u>. We bishops have a great responsibility to work for this noble goal through our prayer and action. Again I wish you all a very joyful Christmas and a blessed new year.<\/span><\/div>\n
