margin: 0 20px 20px 0;\" \/><\/a><i>&#8220;A voice came from the heavens, saying, &#8220;This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.&#8221;<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-ansi-language:EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-ansi-language:EN-US\">The Baptism in the Jordan returns to the great<br \/>\nChristmas theme of &#8216;Christification&#8217;, Jesus of Nazareth&#8217;s spiritual anointing,<br \/>\nHis presentation as the Anointed One per excellence, the Messiah or the One<br \/>\nsent by the Father for the salvation of mankind.&nbsp;The Spirit that descended on Jesus shows and seals in an<br \/>\nincontrovertible way the &#8216;Christification&#8217; of Jesus&#8217; humanity that the Word had<br \/>\nalready fulfilled from the first moment of His miraculous conception by<br \/>\nMary.&nbsp;Jesus, from the very<br \/>\nbeginning, was always the Lord&#8217;s Christ, He was always God. &#8230;the Baptism in the<br \/>\nJordan presents yet another truth: that Jesus has started a new creation.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp;<\/span>He is the second man (1 Cor 15:47) or<br \/>\nthe last Adam (1 Cor 15:45), that comes to repair the first Adam&#8217;s guilt.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>He does this as the Lamb of God that<br \/>\ntakes away our sins.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp;<\/span>&#8216;Looking at<br \/>\nthe events in light of the Cross and Resurrection, the Christian people<br \/>\nrealised what happened: Jesus loaded the burden of all mankind&#8217;s guilt upon His<br \/>\nshoulders;
