The show is now in its 22nd season and broadcast to 90 countries. The claim is that Homer J. Simpson is Catholic. Well&#8230;. The Jesuit periodical,&nbsp;<i>La Civilt&agrave; Cattolica<\/i> published last week Jesuit&nbsp;Francesco Occhetta&#8217;s essay, &#8220;&#8216;The Simpsons&#8217; and Religion.&#8221; For what&#8217;s it&#8217;s worth, here is the p<\/span><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-ansi-language:EN-US\">r&eacute;cis of the article says:<\/span><!--EndFragment--><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-ansi-language:EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-ansi-language:EN-US\">&#8220;Today, even after 24 television series and a blockbuster movie, the Simpsons<br \/>\nare still breaking records: the program is watched by 100 million viewers, in<br \/>\n90 countries worldwide.
