\"St<\/a>God of tenderness and mercy,<\/p>\n

Choosing weak, confounding strong,<\/p>\n

Telling all of heaven’s secrets<\/p>\n

To the child that for you longs;<\/p>\n

We give thanks for boundless kindness<\/p>\n

Shown to this, your little one,<\/p>\n

Who, in midst of earthly darkness,<\/p>\n

Sought the radiance of your Son.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For Thrérèse, your little flower,<\/p>\n

We lift up our song today–<\/p>\n

In her life and in her teachings<\/p>\n

We are led the “little way,”<\/p>\n

From self-seeking to self-knowledge,<\/p>\n

That we all might serve in love.<\/p>\n

Give us strength to thus surrender;<\/p>\n

Shower graces from above.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

From her hidden life in Carmel,<\/p>\n

You have raised her as a light<\/p>\n

In your Church for all your people,<\/p>\n

Drawing us from sinful blight<\/p>\n

Into fellowship with Jesus,<\/p>\n

Image of the Father’s face:<\/p>\n

Grant us mission spirit fervent,<\/p>\n

Preaching you to ev’ry race.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Teach us by her great example<\/p>\n

How to treasure sacrifice;<\/p>\n

Show us that small acts of loving<\/p>\n

Are true gifts, beyond all price.<\/p>\n

As she did, so let us utter,<\/p>\n

“Jesus, help me love you more!”<\/p>\n

In our lack of might and power,<\/p>\n

Let us praise you and adore.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

God of mercy, love, and blessing,<\/p>\n

Father, Son, and Spirit great,<\/p>\n

To your name we give the glory<\/p>\n

As your coming we await.<\/p>\n

Working here to spread your Kingdom,<\/p>\n

Lead us in your little way<\/p>\n

Till Thèrése and all your faithful<\/p>\n

Sing your name in endless day!<\/p>\n
