\nThe cedars of that ancient land

\nOur hymns of praise and thankfulness
\nFor Sharbel’s saintly ways,
\nLived out in strict humility
\nThat guided all his days.<\/p>\n

True monk and hermit of the hills,
\nSaint Maron’s modest son
\nScorned wealth and comfort in his life
\nThat heaven’s crown be won.
\nOf Mary, heaven’s Queen and Gate,
\nDevoted son was he,
\nWho cherished all the ancient rites
\nWith great humility.<\/p>\n

Fierce lover of the lowly life,
\nTrue father of the poor,
\nAs you have done, so help us all
\nTo struggle and endure,
\nThat Christ be praised in ev’ry life,
\nThat riches not ensnare
\nOr rule us in our daily walk;
\nThat strong may be our prayer!<\/p>\n

O Father, Son, and Spirit blest,
\nOne God in persons three,
\nReceive this hymn we offer now,
\nAnd keep your Church e’er free
\nTo follow, as Saint Sharbel did,
\nEnflamed with love so bright
\nThat we, with eyes fixed firm on Christ,
\nMay vanquish sin’s dark night.<\/p>\n
