Come! Lift your hearts to God on high,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

That we be joined in praise this day,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

For God has called this blessed man<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Who leads us in Christ’s narrow way.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

From youth he sought to know God well,<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Preferred, to all things else, Christ’s love<\/i><\/o:p><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

That, freed within the three-fold vow,<\/i><\/o:p><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

His heart be set on things above.<\/i><\/o:p><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

He founded, in his holy zeal,<\/span><\/p>\n

A school of service of the Lord<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Where all might leave self-seeking cares, <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

That God in all things be adored.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

His sons and daughters he has formed<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

To run the way of God’s commands<\/i><\/o:p><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Within the cloister and the world,<\/i><\/o:p><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Through common life in many lands.<\/i><\/o:p><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

To men and women, monks and nuns,<\/span><\/p>\n

Who strive within their rule to grow,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Give purity of heart; grant joy;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

That in all thorns, Christ’s peace they know.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

O Father, Son, and Spirit blessed,<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

With Benedict we sing your praise.<\/i><\/o:p><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

All glory be, until that time<\/i><\/o:p><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

We join the saints for endless days.<\/i><\/o:p><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n
