Loving God, upon this day
\nSing we all in joyful praise:
\nAnthony, your faithful son,
\nOn this day has heaven won.
\nHe, the preacher of the Word,
\nLived in deed the truth he heard;
\nCalled by martyr’s death to be
\nVowed to holy poverty.
\nLord, accept the hymns we raise,
\nSinging Anthony’s holy praise!<\/p>\n
Faithful friar, in Francis’ step
\nBids us go where he has led,
\nDrawn by him, we offer laud
\nTo Christ Jesus, Son of God.
\nFearless teacher of the way,
\nGuiding us to work and pray,
\nThrough his never-ceasing prayer
\nLeads us Christ-ward ev’rywhere.
