There is Christ. <span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"text-decoration: underline; \">He is there whether we sense or experience His<br \/>\npresence<\/span>.&nbsp; But precisely because this is the case, we are sometimes given<br \/>\nto experience that He is present. Such experience is not the source of faith,<br \/>\nbut in some way it is its consequence.<\/span><\/p>\n<div><font class=\"Apple-style-span\" face=\"Garamond, helvetica, hirakakupro-w3, osaka, 'ms pgothic', sans-serif\" size=\"4\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-size: 16px; \"><br \/><\/span><\/font><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-ansi-language:EN-US\">But what about the experience of the<br \/>\nBlessed Virgin Mary during Advent? It is reasonable, like the Fathers of the<br \/>\nChurch, to see <span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Mary as the original tabernacle<\/span>. The Word became flesh and<br \/>\ndwells among us.&nbsp; This being hidden but present among us is first of all<br \/>\nrealized during the time of Advent in the home of Nazareth, in the womb of<br \/>\nMary, under the protection of Saint Joseph.&nbsp; Mary meditated upon all these<br \/>\nthings and kept them in her heart. We can reasonably speculate that she read<br \/>\nscripture during this time, in silence, most likely the words of Isaiah, his<br \/>\nprophesies, and found in them a sense of the meaning of what was happening to<br \/>\nher.<\/span><\/p>\n<div><font class=\"Apple-style-span\" face=\"Garamond, helvetica, hirakakupro-w3, osaka, 'ms pgothic', sans-serif\" size=\"4\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><br \/><\/span><\/font><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-ansi-language:EN-US\">St. Augustine says that she conceived the Word in her heart before she<br \/>\nconceived the Word in her flesh. So that <b>her maternity was accompanied by an<br \/>\nintensification and growth in faith, in contemplation, in the intelligent<br \/>\nperception of mystery<\/b>. The Second Vatican Council says that during the time of<br \/>\nher pregnancy the heart of the Incarnate Word beat gently below the heart of<br \/>\nMary, her immaculate heart. Two immaculate hearts, beating silently and<br \/>\nprayerfully in the night of this world.<\/span><!--EndFragment-->\n<\/div>\n<div><font class=\"Apple-style-span\" face=\"Garamond, helvetica, hirakakupro-w3, osaka, 'ms pgothic', sans-serif\" size=\"4\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><br \/><\/span><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font class=\"Apple-style-span\" face=\"Garamond, helvetica, hirakakupro-w3, osaka, 'ms pgothic', sans-serif\" size=\"4\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-size: 16px;\">(Fr.
