{"id":25143,"date":"2009-12-08T12:48:41","date_gmt":"2009-12-08T16:48:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/index.php\/2009\/12\/grace-at-work-in-the-mary-imma\/"},"modified":"2013-12-09T11:45:16","modified_gmt":"2013-12-09T15:45:16","slug":"grace-at-work-in-the-mary-imma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/index.php\/2009\/12\/grace-at-work-in-the-mary-imma\/","title":{"rendered":"Grace at work in Mary Immaculate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The privilege of Mary Immaculate does not consist\u00a0solely in the absence of original sin, but much more in being &#8220;full of\u00a0grace.&#8221; The Mother of Jesus gave to the world that very life which renews\u00a0all things &#8230; and was enriched by God with gifts befitting such a role &#8230; She\u00a0was adorned from the first instant of her conception with the splendors of an\u00a0entirely unique holiness (<i>Lumen Gentium<\/i>\u00a056).<\/p>\n<p>Gabriel&#8217;s greeting, &#8220;Hail,\u00a0full of grace, the Lord is with you!&#8221; is the strongest testimony of the Immaculate\u00a0Conception of Mary, who would not be &#8220;full of grace&#8221; in the complete\u00a0sense of the word if she had been stained by sin for a single moment.<\/p>\n<p>Thus the\u00a0Blessed Virgin began life with a richness of grace which far surpasses that\u00a0which the greatest saints acquire at the end of their lives. When we also\u00a0consider her absolute fidelity and her total availability to God, we can\u00a0faintly imagine to what heights of love and communion with God she attained far\u00a0beyond all other creatures in heaven and on earth (<i>Lumen Gentium<\/i>\u00a053).<\/p>\n<p>Fr.
