Let all Christ’s Church assemble here<\/o:p><\/p>\n

And, gathered in His holy Name,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Keep solemn, joyful festival<\/o:p><\/p>\n

To sing of great Elijah’s fame.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Of all the prophets who foretold<\/o:p><\/p>\n

God’s hidden plan of saving grace,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

He is the chief: to him we give,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The Tishbite, now the choicest place.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

He called the folk of Israel<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Back to their covenant with God;<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Through kingly wrath and violence<\/o:p><\/p>\n

God’s narrow way of truth he trod.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

When earthly tasks for him were done,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

You called him in a special way:<\/o:p><\/p>\n

A fiery chariot came for him,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Foretelling Christ’s ascension day.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

For all the graces You have giv’n<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Through what Elijah did for You,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Your Church on earth gives endless praise,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

O Father, Son, and Spirit true.<\/o:p><\/p>\n
