Rejoice we all in the Lord, as we keep festival in honor of
\nthe Blessed Virgin Mary: whose solemnity makes angels joyful and sets them
\npraising the Son of God. Joyful the thoughts that well up from my heart, I
\nshall speak of the works of the King<\/i><\/o:p><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/p>\n

Mother of Perpetual Help,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

with the greatest confidence<\/o:p><\/p>\n

we come before your holy picture<\/o:p><\/p>\n

to be inspired by the example of your life.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/p>\n

We think of you at that moment when,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

full of faith and trust,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

you accepted God’s call<\/o:p><\/p>\n

to be the mother of his Son.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Help us, your children,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

to accept with joy our own calling in life.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/p>\n

When you learned that your cousin Elizabeth was in need<\/o:p><\/p>\n

you immediately went to serve her<\/o:p><\/p>\n

and offer your help.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Help us, like you,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

to be concerned for others.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/p>\n

We think of you, Mother,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

at the foot of the cross.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Your heart must have bled<\/o:p><\/p>\n

to see your Son in agony.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/p>\n

But your joy was great<\/o:p><\/p>\n

when he rose from the dead,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

victorious over the powers of evil.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Mother of Sorrows,<\/o:p><\/p>\n

help us through the trials and<\/o:p><\/p>\n

disappointments of life.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Help us not to lose heart.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/p>\n

May we share with you and your Son<\/o:p><\/p>\n

the joy of having courageously faced up<\/o:p><\/p>\n

to all the challenges of life.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Amen.<\/o:p><\/p>\n
