We also remembered Sister Jeanette who died in December and who was to<br \/>\ncelebrated 50 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\" style=\"display: inline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/Msgr%20Bob%20Weiss%20May%2023%2009.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Msgr Bob Weiss May 23 09.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/assets_c\/2009\/05\/Msgr Bob Weiss May 23 09-thumb-250x187.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"187\" class=\"mt-image-left\" style=\"float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The Sacrifice of the Mass was celebrated by Father Jim<br \/>\nMeszaros (of NY) and the homilist was Monsignor Robert Weiss, pastor of Saint<br \/>\nRose of Lima (Newtown, CT &amp; friend of Sister Barbara); six priests concelebrated.<br \/>\nSister Mary Ellen did a very nice job with the music that was selected by a<br \/>\njulibarian sister.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The Mass included the renewal of vows of the jubilarians.<br \/>\nAfter giving thanks for the graces of perseverance and service, the sisters<br \/>\npromised to continue to be faithful to Mother Foundress&#8217; vision and spirit<br \/>\ncooperating with Christ and the Church as women of prayer and service. The<br \/>\nexample of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph and the saints were invoked<br \/>\nfor supernatural assistance. A striking line from Blessed Mary of Jesus the<br \/>\nGood Shepherd were striking: &#8220;Once again I had the unmistakable evidence that<br \/>\nhuman hearts are in the hands of God, that we depend upon Him alone, and that<br \/>\nHis Will guides the course of our lives.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\" style=\"display: inline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/Sr%20Rose%20Thelma%20May%2023%2009.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Sr Rose Thelma May 23 09.JPG\" src=\"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/Sr Rose Thelma May 23 09-thumb-225x168.jpg\" width=\"225\" height=\"168\" class=\"mt-image-right\" style=\"float: right; margin: 0 0 20px 20px;\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Guests from all over New England and New York and<br \/>\nPennsylvania came to pray and celebrate. The Sisters had a delicious dinner for<br \/>\nus. I enjoyed dinner and conversation with friends and colleagues Sisters Mary<br \/>\nEllen, Thaddeus, Rose, (at right) Virginette and Mary Anthony. The company was truly<br \/>\ndelightful and the hospitality warm!<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\" style=\"display: inline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/Srs%20Constance%20%26%20Mary%20Ellen%20May%2023%2009.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Srs Constance &amp; Mary Ellen May 23 09.JPG\" src=\"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/Srs Constance &amp; Mary Ellen May 23 09-thumb-200x150.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" class=\"mt-image-left\" style=\"float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Following our midday dinner Sister Mary Ellen (in the gray habit) gave me a<br \/>\ngracious tour of the beautiful grounds and the CSFN heritage room. Since I love<br \/>\nthe history of religious life and the Sisters of this congregation, I was much<br \/>\nhappy to see how the CSFNs have labored in the Lord&#8217;s vineyard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\" style=\"display: inline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/Sr%20M.%20Constance%20%26%20PAZ%20May%2023%2009.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Sr M. Constance &amp; PAZ May 23 09.JPG\" src=\"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/assets_c\/2009\/05\/Sr M. Constance &amp; PAZ May 23 09-thumb-225x168.jpg\" width=\"225\" height=\"168\" class=\"mt-image-left\" style=\"float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Among the sisters at the Monroe convent are my second and<br \/>\nfifth grade teachers plus a few other sisters I&#8217;ve known since my grammar<br \/>\nschool days. Sister Mary Constance is doing well for 86 (65 years in the<br \/>\nconvent) and Sister Mary Estelle is living with Alzheimer&#8217;s and was peacefully<br \/>\nsleeping. I also saw Sister Hedwig at dinner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">But who are the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth<br \/>\n(CSFN)? In their own words they are:<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-ansi-language:EN-US\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-style: italic;\"><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\" style=\"display: inline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/CSFN%20arms.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"CSFN arms.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/assets_c\/2009\/05\/CSFN arms-thumb-175x196.jpg\" width=\"175\" height=\"196\" class=\"mt-image-left\" style=\"float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;\" \/><\/a><\/span>We,<br \/>\nthe Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, an international apostolic<br \/>\nCongregation, believe that the Holy Family of Nazareth, <span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">three persons in<br \/>\ncommunion with God and each other<\/span>; obedient and faithful to the will of God,<br \/>\n<span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">reveals to us the profound reality that God is present in the most simple and<br \/>\nordinary experiences of human life<\/span>. This vision, which so captivated our<br \/>\nFoundress, Blessed Mary of Jesus the Good Shepherd (Frances Siedliska), is the<br \/>\nsource and inspiration for our life and service. Sharing in Jesus&#8217; mission of<br \/>\nspreading the Kingdom of God&#8217;s love, we engage in a variety of ministries with<br \/>\nand in the Church. Mindful that it is an environment of love that persons come<br \/>\nto fullness of life, we witness a family spirit among ourselves, and are<br \/>\n<span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">dedicated to the moral and religious renewal of family life<\/span>.
