{"id":24354,"date":"2009-02-21T19:30:00","date_gmt":"2009-02-21T23:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/index.php\/2009\/02\/communion-liberation-at-belmon\/"},"modified":"2013-10-18T11:35:06","modified_gmt":"2013-10-18T15:35:06","slug":"communion-liberation-at-belmon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communio.stblogs.org\/index.php\/2009\/02\/communion-liberation-at-belmon\/","title":{"rendered":"Communion &#038; Liberation at Belmont Abbey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today about 25 friends\u00a0who follow, that is, are a part of\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clonline.us\/\">Communion &amp; Liberation<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0from around the Carolinas came to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.belmontabbey.org\/\">Belmont Abbey<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0Basilica to celebrate the Sacrifce of the Mass on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of death of Monsignor Luigi Giussani\u00a0and the 27th year of the recognition of the Fraternity of Communion and Liberation. Redemptorist Father Joseph Dione, a local pastor, was the celebrant of the Mass.<\/p>\n<p>After, John Neill, the CL Responsible for the Carolinas,\u00a0led us on a walk around the grounds of\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/belmontabbeycollege.edu\/\">Belmont Abbey College<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0stopping at the<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/belmontabbeycollege.edu\/assets\/flash\/SlideShowPro\/galleries\/adoration-chapel-blessings\/adoration-chapel-blessings.swf\">Saint Joseph Adoration Chapel<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and at the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes to\u00a0offer a prayer of\u00a0thanksgiving for the graces received today and in the past year. This was especially important to recognize since Our Lady of Lourdes is important to the life of CL\u00a0 because it was something that Giussani taught us: <em>go to the BVM<\/em>. So we feel very connected with\u00a0the history of our charism.\u00a0The group then went to dinner at a local restuarant but I had to ring bells\u00a0and pray Vespers. Our group joined about 30 other groups in the USA and countless others around the world who did the same thing for the same reason.<\/p>\n<p>It was a beautiful day in which we gave came together as friends to give thanks to God. Our gathering keeps the companionship and the Benedictine roots of CL alive.
