Baptism of the Lord

Baptism of Christ 13th century.jpgIn the likeness of a dove, the Holy Ghost was seen: the Father’s voice was heard saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased: Hearken unto Him!

It is the Lord that commandeth the waters, it is the glorious God that maketh the thunder; it is the Lord that ruleth the sea. The Father’s voice was heard saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased: Hearken unto Him!

  1. Dear Paul
I am wondering who the artist is of this magnificent piece from the Baptism of the Lord. I had purchased a print in Rome of the very same icon, and had it framed before i wrote down the artists name. Could you help me out?
    Many Blessings

  2. Hello Fr. Brown, Thanks for reading Communio blog and writing. As far as I can tell, the icon is a 13th century icon that is connected in some way to the Basilica di San Marco, Venice.
    I hope this help us.
